An American in Tokyo

Our daughter has been to Europe twice. Once in high

school as an exchange student and once in university

for her "immersion" session in the German language. There

was no silver spoon, she worked to make it happen.

At a time when she is breaching the boundary of middle

age, at a point in middle-class life when the dream is

finding an affordable, comfy sofa, she found an

opportunity to tour the Land of the Rising Sun.
