Cindy learned about film processing at Camera America and Van's Photo. Sales at Olen Mills. Backgrounds and props at Denny's. Studio Photography at Sears Portrait Studios.
Brian learned the essentials of photography in his father's home darkroom and as a staff photographer at Collins High School and at the West Virginia Institute of Technology.
Together they owned and operated their own small home studio, "Keepsakes by Design" and rode the tsunami of the photographic digital revolution for a decade.
They have three decades of (dating before 2001) negatives and slides that await a digital debut, along with three decades of images made by Brian's father, Clayton Barnhart (dating from 1936).
